They came, they saw it, they did it! Last weekend, the Tough Mudder Berlin-Brandenburg transformed the idyllic Klaistow asparagus farm into a giant dirt pit. Over 3,700 Tough Mudder participants from all over the world came to the picturesque location to push themselves to their limits and experience the thrill of teamwork.
The courses, set amidst the beautiful Klaistow Asparagus Farm, offered a unique blend of classic Tough Mudder obstacles with a few local twists. Here are some of the highlights that made this event truly unforgettable:
1. DESCENT IN THE ARCTIC ENEMA
Unlike its British counterpart, the Berlin-Brandenburg Arctic Enema offered an exciting change of pace. Instead of a simple plunge, participants slid down a heart-pounding slide into the icy water, providing an extra challenge (and perhaps triggering a scream or two!).
2. LONGEST KISS OF MUD IN THE WORLD
No Tough Mudder experience is complete without a fair bit of mud, and the Tough Mudder Berlin-Brandenburg course offered plenty of it. The world’s longest Kiss of Mud, sponsored by our new partner foodspring, is a strenuous 60 metre course of pure mud that will test even the most experienced mudder. Laughter, cheers and lots of mud flying around made this obstacle a real crowd pleaser.
3. GERMANY TAKES ON THE GRUELING APE SHIT
A muddy twist on the UK’s well-known Funky Monkey obstacle, the German Tough Mudder introduced the challenging “Ape Shit” for the first time. This obstacle demanded both upper body strength and grip to navigate a water pit using climbing bars, wheels, and other elements. Mudders had to conquer their fear of falling as they traversed this unique challenge, emerging triumphant on the other side.
4. HERO CARY THROUGH NATURE
The Hero Carry at the Tough Mudder Berlin-Brandenburg offered a unique change of pace. The participants crossed the beautiful forest of the Klaistow asparagus farm and carried their partners through the middle of the Brandenburg forest. This scenic route became a testament to teamwork and trust as the mudders relied on each other to overcome the obstacle amidst the tranquillity of nature.
